Ever since I moved to New York, and I was surprised to see that there isn't a simple website that allows you to easily navigate New York City's subway / bus maps. The transit lines on the official http://maps.google.com are okay, but are lacking the detailed station and line info that MTA's official maps provide. The MTA website on the other hand only provides you an undraggable/small image or a bunch of PDFs, which are slow to open and cumbersome to pan and zoom.
Well, I decided to hack together my own #googlemaps #mashup this weekend that just puts those MTA maps on a Google Map. Check it out at http://www.transitme.com. It's simple, full-screen and easy to navigate. I've also add subway maps for Seoul, Paris and Madrid as well and will be adding more in the future.
